ABC Journalist Radio News - Illawarra

• Contract Vacancy Approximately 12 Months
• Part-Time Job Share  - 2 days per week
• $58,633 - $65,333 p.a. + Generous Super (pro-rata)
• Wollongong, NSW

The ABC is looking for a radio journalist to join its Illawarra news team.  The position is offered as a 2 day per week contract, to job share with another journalist.  This role is based mainly in Wollongong, but there may be an occasional requirement to work out of the Nowra studios.

You will be an experienced journalist in a Radio News environment with proven editorial, reporting and presenting skills. You will be required to work some shifts including weekends and be committed to the ABCs broadcast objectives and standards.

 Selection Criteria:

1. You will be an experienced journalist.
2. You will be a self-starter with advanced news judgement and a strong understanding of local issues.
3. You will have a strong broadcast voice and excellent writing skills. 
4. You will possess strong communication skills.
5. You will have an awareness of ABC News requirements at National, State and Regional levels.
6. Understanding of, and commitment to the ABC's aims, objectives and workplace values, together with relevant policies and guidelines including Editorial Policies, Equity & Diversity and OH&S.
